2 c shortening
2 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp milk
6 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla



Filling:
2 c ground raisins
¾ c sugar
1 Tbsp flour
1 c water
1 tsp vanilla
½ c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and add sugars. Mix well before adding eggs, milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients into the mixture. Combine and form into four rolls. Wrap each roll in waxed paper and chill dough until ready to bake. Slice dough thin and place on a greased cookie sheet. Add 1 tsp filling and top with another cookie slice. Seal edges and bake 10 minutes at 375° or until done. To make filling, mix all ingredients except nuts and vanilla. Cook in saucepan until thickened. Add nuts and vanilla and cool.
