4 c all purpose flour
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 ¾ c solid vegetable Shortening
½ c ice water
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
Put first 3 ingredients in large bowl and mix well with table fork. Add shortening; mix will with fork or pasty blender until crumbly. In a small bowl beat together the water, vinegar and egg and add to flour mixture. Stir with fork until all ingredients are moistened. Divide dough in 5 sections (about 8 oz each) and flatten into a round patty. Wrap each in plastic or waxed paper and chill at least 1/2 hour. Lightly flour both sides of patty and board and roll out to 1/8 thickness and 1 inches larger than pie pan. Bake one crust shell at 450 degrees for 12–15 minutes. Press with finger to remove any air pockets and prick with fork before baking.
