1/2 gallon buttermilk
4 tsp. baking soda
6 eggs
1/4 to 1/2 tsp salt
self-rising flour (family size)
1 qt. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
3 eggs
salt for eggs
self-rising flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour buttermilk into bowl and add baking soda. Let it set for a few minutes. Break eggs in another bowl and add salt (small amount). Beat eggs and then after a while add to buttermilk mixture. Stir. Using wire beater, add self-rising flour a little at a time, stirring and adding flour until mixture is a fairly thick consistency.
