2 cups sugar, 1 cup canned milk (undiluted), 1 cup dates, 1/2 cup coconut, 1/2 cup nuts, 1 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar and milk until it forms a soft ball (med. hard). Add dates, chopped fine. Boil until it separates from pan. Add nuts and coconut. When cold, add vanilla and roll up (like a sausage) in a cloth that has been rung out of cold water. When set, slice and serve.
