3 lb ground beef
bread crumbs
garlic
onion
egg
spices

Sauce:
garlic
onion
tomato paste
tomato sauce
water
sugar
oregano
Italian seasoning
basil
bay leaves

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix all the meatball ingredients in a bowl and mix with hands. Shape them into meatballs.
*Start meatballs 24 hours before prior to pasta day and freeze
2. Brown the garlic and onions. Add tomato paste. Add tomato sauce and water. Add sugar, spices, and bay leaves to taste.
3. Boil and then simmer, stirring frequently for 3+ hours.

Grandma Esther did not use measurements for making this sauce, thus giving the DeGeorge family the open-ended recipe of trying to remake the sauce as good as she did. Some claim they have come close, but others realize it may not be that easy. Attempt at your own risk.
