1 c shortening
1 c sugar
½ c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda dissolved in 1 T milk
1½ c flour
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
3 c oatmeal
1 c raisins, soaked or 1 c Craisins
¾ c chocolate chips (optional)
Chopped walnuts (optional)
Coconut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Make 36 balls and place 12 balls on greased baking sheets. Press each flat with heel of your hand.

Bake at 375º about 10 minutes.
