1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
¼ tps. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
¾ cup candied red cherries
¾ cup green candied cherries
½ cup shredded, sweetened coconut

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar, then mix in vanilla. Add flour and salt and mix until combined. Gently mix in cherries.
2. Form 2 rolls of dough about 2 inches around. Roll and coat in coconut. Chill overnight or for several hours.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
4. Slice the rolls into ¼ inch slices. Bake for 12 minutes or until edges get lightly golden brown.

A buttery, sweet treat during the holidays that reminds us of Grandma Kanel. She used to spend every Christmas with us, along with Uncle Kay. I remember looking out the window while waiting for them to arrive every year. She was a beloved grandma and would bring treats and books for us.
