1 (8 oz.) Solo Almond Paste
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup toasted almond slivers (3.5 oz package of toasted almond accents)

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Set aside two baking sheets.
2. Break almond paste into small pieces and place in a medium-size bowl or container of a food processor. Add butter and beat with an electric mixer or process until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
3. Add sugars, eggs, and almond extract, then beat or process until thoroughly blended. (If using a food processor, transfer mixture to a medium-size bowl.)
4. Stir flour, baking soda, and salt until mixed. Add to the almond mixture and stir until blended.
5. Stir in chocolate and slivered almonds.
6. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets about 1 ½ inches apart.
7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks.
