Ingredients:  
1¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine softened
½ cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
1 ¾ flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt (optional)
2½ cups uncooked quick cooking oats or old fashioned oats
1 package semi sweet chocolate chips (1¾ cups)
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine brown and white sugar with butter and beat at medium speed til light and fluffy
Add eggs, milk and vanilla and beat at medium speed until well blended
Add flour, baking soda and salt and beat on low until soft dough forms
Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts
Drop by heaping tsps on greased baking sheet
Bake in 375º preheated oven for 9-10 minutes for soft or 12-13 minutes for crisp
