1 1b butter
1 1b brown sugar
1 egg
1½ cups chopped nuts
6 cups flour
1 t baking powder sifted
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar Add egg. Slowly add dry ingredients & vanilla. Roll into logs & wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate for 8 hours. Bake @ 325 or 350 for 10-15 minutes. Watch carefully because they burn easily. Let them barely turn brown & take up. You may use some margarine but use at least 1 stick of butter to make 1 pound.

Judy gave me this recipe because it was my favorite cookies that Bill made. I watched Bill make them and she would slice the cookies and put on an ungreased cookie sheet to bake sooo the lesson to be learned is DO NOT BAKE THE ROLL, first slice the cookies, and then bake. I know, I know, but these things do make a difference if you are a cook like GiGi and me — we follow directions!!!!!!
