2 sticks butter
1 cup oil
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp lemon extract
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, oil, and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Chill dough 3-4 hours. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Press dough flat with a glass - put small amount of oil on glass and dip into sugar first. Bake 350 until golden.

Mrs. Rickard was a lady at my church in Florence who made the best cookies! She always made them for Sunday School, VBS, and many church “fellowships”, I remember one Christmas she made me a gingerbread house.
