1/2 C butter (1 stick)
13 C brown sugar
1/2 t vanilla
1/4 t cream of tartar
2 T sugar
1/2 C sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 C flour
1/2 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, cream together butter and sugars with mixer on high speed, add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Pour in dry ingredients and mix well, refrigerate, in small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar for topping. Use 2 1/2 T of dough, roll into dough, roll into ball, roll in the cinnamon and sugar mix then press on ungreased sheet. Bake 12-14 minutes at 300 and no more. Will seem undercooked but will be OK. The cookies should be soft in the middle and chewy.
