2 1/2 C flour
1 C sugar
1/4 C butter or margarine, softened
1T Anise seed
2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
1 1/2 cups flour and remaining flour into a bowl. Mix at low speed until just mixed. Increase speed and beat 3 minutes, scraping the bowl as needed. Stir in remaining flour until well mixed. Wrap in waxed paper, chill 1 hour or until firm
Preheat oven tp 375F. Divide dough in half . On floured surface shape into 12 x 2 loafs.
Put into greased pan, about 2" apart. bake 20 minutes. Remove and slice diagonally into 1" bars. Turn onto their sides. DO not let them touch. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on rack.
