½ c butter
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2⅔ c all-purpose flour
½ c Sour cream
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, egg and vanilla well. In separate bowl blend dry ingredients.
add slowly to sugar mixture alternating with sour cream. Divide into workable amount and roll out to ¼" thick on well-floured pastry cloth, (I powdered sugar instead of flour on pastry cloth to roil out). Cut using a round or holiday cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet (I use parchment paper) spaced at least ½" apart. bake at 475º about 8 min. don't overcook or they will be hard. Done if just start to brown on edges. Remove to cooling rack, may frost or decorate when cool.

if using holiday cutters bake all the same size cut out on same sheet
When removing from cookie sheet, cookies will be very soft but firm up as they cool.
