1 cup butter
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs (1 for glaze)
3-3¼ cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 T orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add orange juice and vanilla and beat well. Mix dry ingredients separately and add to wet mixture gradually. Beat until dough is smooth.

Pinch off pieces about the size of your thumb and roll into a tube in your hands. Shape into an "S". For glaze, beat one egg and brush cookies before baking.

Bake at 350º for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

My friend Ruth Ann spent a semester in Greece when we were in college together. She came home with this recipe and we made many batches of them in the Kappa house kitchen. I loved these cookies! They're like a shortbread, not too sweet but buttery and delicious.
