1½ C milk (lukewarm temp)
½ C water
½ C sugar
2 tsp salt
2 cakes compressed yeast
2 eggs
½ C Crisco
7-7½ C flour (Gold Medal)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the first 4 ingredients. Crumble yeast into mixture. Stir until yeast is dissolved. Stir in eggs and Crisco. Add flour (mix with spoon then by hand) in 2 additions. Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Divide dough into bread pans. Cover and let rise 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. After baked, rub top of bread with Crisco with wax paper.

This bread is my all-time favorite. It is delicious with just butter, butter and jelly or with ham sandwiches!
