1½ cups butter
2 c. granulated sugar
½ c. dark molasses
2 eggs, beaten
4 t. baking soda
4 cups all purpose flour
1 t. ground cloves
1 t. ground ginger
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
Turbinado sugar to coat the unbaked cookies

Directions:

In a medium bowl, beat the sugar and butter with a mixer until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs and molasses until completely blended.

In a separate bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients together. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Cover the dough and refrigerate overnight.

Roll the dough into 1 inch balls (the dough will be very stiff) and coat them in the turbinado sugar.

Bake the cookies on a sheet pan at 350 for 10-12 minutes minutes.
