For the Cookies:
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup maple syrup
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
For the Maple Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1-2 tablespoons milk

Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar:

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Wet Ingredients:

Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
Form Dough Balls:

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the cookies are lightly golden brown.

Cool:

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Maple Icing
:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.

Adjust consistency as needed by adding more milk if too thick or more powdered sugar if too thin.

Ice Cookies:

Once the cookies are completely cooled, drizzle or spread the maple icing over the tops of the cookies.
