Cookies:
4½ cups of sifted flour
1½ tsp baking powder
1½ tsp salt
1½ tsp baking soda
1½ cups sugar
1½ cups shortening cut in *not melted
3 eggs
6 Tbsp. milk
3 tsp vanilla

Frosting:
2 lb. bag or 7½ cups of powdered sugar
2½ Tbsp butter
1½ pints of hot milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut shortening into the dry ingredients. Blend in egg, milk, and vanilla. Roll out on a floured board until 1/16th of an inch thick. Cut into desired shapes and bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º for 6-8 minutes.

Decorate cookies with frosting and enjoy!

This is a tripled recipe as you have to make a lot of sugar cookies at a time. It could be divided if you want less.
