Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1 ½ c butter
1 ½ c sugar
3 eggs (beaten)
1 c warm milk
1 t lemon extract
2 c gumdrops cut into small pieces
2 ½ c flour
1 t salt
1 t baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all dry ingredients. Mix/cream all wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients and fold in.

Bake for 35 minutes. Test with toothpick.

Granny's strong recommendation: DO NOT USE THE BLACK GUMDROPS

You both would look forward to Granny's visits around the holidays. She would sometimes bake all of her special treats prior to travelling but sometimes she would spend an afternoon baking with us. You both took turns cutting the gumdrops. Granny's secret tip in cutting them was to put them in a bowl with flour. That way none of the gummy bits would stick to the scissors. Great tip Granny!
