1 tsp. baking powder
2½ cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. whole milk
1 cup butter, softened

Directions:
Using a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat thoroughly. Stir in the milk and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk the baking powder into the flour. Then gradually add to creamed mixture.
Using a 1¼-inch ice cream scoop, scoop and then place each ball of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Press cookies down with your hand or a glass dipped in a small bowl of sugar. They should be about ¼ inch thick.
Bake in a preheated 400ºF oven for 6-8 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on a wire baking rack. Then remove cookies with a thin metal spatula to a wire rack.
