1 cup water
2 cups raisins
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. allspice
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

Boil raisins and water for 5 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes.
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add vanilla and raisins with water. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices.
Combine wet and dry ingredients. This will be a very soft cookie blend.
Drop by spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes.
