Ingredients:  
1/2 cup of oleo (margarine)
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg and beat me
1 cup, peeled, chopped raw apples
1 cup of chopped walnuts
1/4 cup of milk
1 cup of raisins or dates or 1/2 cup of each
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of white flour
Cream oleo and brown sugar together. Add egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. stir half of the dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Add remaining sifted ingredients alternately with liquid. Stir in nuts, raisins, dates, and apples. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookies sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350°.
Make thin glaze by combining:
11/2 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 1/2 tablespoons of milk
While cookies are still hot. Spread glaze over top of pastry brush
