1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tartar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 cup dried fruit - raisins, cranberries etc.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sour cream and baking soda and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl mix dry ingredients.
Cut in the butter until mixture forms into small pellets.
Stir in egg and sour cream mixture until just moistened.
Stir in fruit. Turn our dough on a lightly floured surface and knead briefly.
Roll or pat the dough into a ¾ inch thick round.
Cut dough into twelve wedges.
Place wedges on a pre-greased baking sheet. - space 2" apart. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes on lowest rack of the oven. Important! Scones are done when the Bottoms are golden brown.
