1 cup (250 mL) Imperial Margarine
3/4 cup (175 mL) brown sugar
3/4 cup (175 mL) granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
2-1/4 cups (550 mL) all-purpose flour
2/3 cup (150 mL) cocoa
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
8 oz (125 g) semi-sweet chocolate squares, cut into small chunks
1 cup (250 mL) chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream margarine and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add flour, cocoa and baking soda; mix until well blended.
Stir in chocolate and nuts.
Drop dough in 1/4 cup (50 mL) mounds onto greased cookie sheets, about 3 inches (7 cm) apart.
Flatten each cookie slightly.
Bake at 350ºF (180ºC) for 15 to 20 minutes or until set.
Cool slightly on pan, then remove to cooling rack.
