White cookie dough
Bake at 400º 10 - 12 minutes unless very small
2 cups Crisco or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 tablespoons anise extract (or 2 tablespoons vanilla)
1 1/4 cups milk
7 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar, eggs, baking powder and anise.
Add flour alternately with milk.
Chill overnight for easier to work with dough. Roll into 1 - 1 1/2" balls with 1 - 2 inches between cookies on parchment paper covered cookie sheet

Make frosting with powdered sugar, milk and about 2 teaspoons melted butter or margarine

Variations....

add anise oil - frosting will be white

Pink - use 2 teaspoons milk, butter and maraschino cherry juice till good consistency and color

Yellow - as above - only use lemon oil.
