Ingredients:  
½ C butter
½ C shortening
8 T powdered sugar
1½ C crushed pecans
2 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening. Add remaining ingredients. Roll into balls. Bake at 375º for 12 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar.

Dessa "Butch" Mallory's Christmas cookie recipe. You may want to double or quadruple. Butch made beautiful Christmas cookies. This was one of my favorites. She also made an apricot no-bake cookie with condensed milk. And a tasty chocolate cake cookie with a walnut on top. Eventually, she stopped having a Christmas tree, but she never stopped baking the cookies!
