Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe is a favorite by many who have attended my annual Christmas Open House over my career. Mary Marion (Special Services Coordinator, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD) has referred to them as "crack". I haven't asked how she knows that. Anyway, when I told her I was retiring, she was speechless. (That never happens with Mary.) When she could finally speak, the first thing she said was "Who's going to make us cookies?".

These cookies were originally the recipe of my great Aunt Dorothy McClintic (Indianola IA). It has been made by the various generations in our family.
