2¼ Cups All Purpose Flour

1 tsp of Baking Soda

1 tsp of Salt

1 Cup (2 Sticks) of Butter, softened

¾ Cup Granulated Sugar

¾ Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

2 Large Eggs

2 Cups of Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels...

1 Cup Chopped Nuts...(Optional)

Preheat Oven to 375º F

Combine the Flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat the butter, granulated
sugar, brown sugar and Vanilla Extract in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add the
eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in the flour
mixture until blended. Then stir in morsels and nuts...(If adding nuts)...Drop by
rounded Tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes,
then remove to wire racks to cool completely.


NOTES:

Pan Cookie Variation: Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a 15 x 10 inch Jelly Roll
pan...Prepare dough as above and spread into the prepared
pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool
in pan on a wired rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.

Slice and Bake Variation: Prepare dough as above. Divide dough in half and wrap in
was paper. Refrigerate for one hour or until firm. Shape
each half into a 15 inch log. Wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate
for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375ºF...Cut into ½ inch
thick slices and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake
for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking
sheet for 2 minutes then remove to wire racks to cool
completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

*May be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer up to 8 weeks.

HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (5200 feet): Increase Flour to 2½ Cups. Add 2 tsp of
water with flour and reduce granulated sugar
and Brown sugar to ⅔ Cup each and Bake
the dropped cookies for 8-10 minutes and the
pan cookies 17-19 minutes.
