2 c fkiyr
1 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg white whipped
1 egg yolk
1/2 c buttermilk
1 tsp lemon flavoring
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Mix shortening, sugar and egg yolk. Mix in flour alternately with milk, mix in vanilla and lemon. Fold in egg white beaten stiff. Drop on greased cookie sheet with fork flatten to 1/2 " thickness and sprinkle with sugar. I use a heaping Tblsp to drop so this makes only 1 1/2 doz, I usually double or triple.

Bake on 375 for 15 mins, or till light brown.
