2 Cups Flour
1.5 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Large Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
6 Tablespoons Butter
1/3 Cup Shortening
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour , baking powder , and 1/4 teaspoon salt . Beat the butter and shortening together for 30 seconds . Add sugar and beat until fluffy .Add milk , eggs , and vanilla . Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients . Beat until well combined . Cover and chill for at least 3 hours . Work with half the dough at a time on a floured surface , roll to 1/8 inch thickness . Cut into desired shapes . Place on an ungrease cookie sheet . ( I line mine with parchment paper ) Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 8 minutes . Cool five minutes on cookie sheet then transfer to a wire rack to cool completly before frosting or adding icing . ( Painting as the kids call it )
