Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbs ground cinnamon
1 tbs ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup unsulphured molasses
2 tbs milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. With electric mixer, stir together flour, brown sugar, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt at low speed.
2. Add butter and mix at medium speed until sandy and resembles fine meal.
3. Add molasses and milk; mix on low speed until dough is evenly combined (30-45 seconds)
4. Scrape dough onto a work surface and divide in half. Working with one portion at a time, roll or press dough to 1/2 inch think between 2 large sheets of parchment paper. Leaving in paper, stack dough on a baking sheet and freeze until firm -- 15-20 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
6. Remove dough from freezer and place on counter. Peel off top parchment and using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into desired shapes.
7. Transfer to baking sheets, spacing an inch apart.
8. Bake 8-9 minutes. Do not overbake! Leave on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
9. Decorate!! Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator in a covered container.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Linden fell in love with gingerbread cookies when a friend from Lovett, Meryl, introduced her to them years ago. Linden has worked to find this recipe that has great flavor and remains soft and chewy. A great new family tradition!!
