Directions:Preheat the oven to 400°.
Mix together butter and sugar.
Add in egg and vanilla, mixing well.
Sift together the dry ingredients, including the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well.
Place crushed cereal in small mixing bowl and water in another small mixing bowl.
Add the golden colored sugar crystals to ANOTHER separate bowl.
Shape the dough by rounded tsps into balls as below:
1) Roll the dough balls in the water to moisten them up just a bit. 2) Roll balls into cereal, patting the crushed flakes into the surface of the cookie ball. 3) Roll in the golden sugar crystals, again patting the sugar crystals into the surface of the cookie ball.
Place each cookie ball on cookie sheet.
Stick a cookie/cake pop stick into each one
Bake the cookie pops for 12 to 14 minutes. The cookies will flatten out somewhat but still stay in a fluffy, rounded shape.
Once the cookies have baked, allow them to cool.
Meanwhile, use wing template to cut wings out of the sugar paper.
You'll want 2 wings for each cookie pop. (Make sure to position your paper wing while cutting so you have one for each side of your cookie pop.)
Once you have all your wings cut out, peel the backing off each one.
Add slits for feathering in each wing (see photo).
Once all of your wings are cut out, melt your candy melts according to package directions.
Using dropper, add a couple drops of melted candy on both sides of your cookie. Press the wings in place.
Allow the melted candy to harden, for at least 20 minutes. |

HARRY POTTER & THE GOLDEN SNITCH
In the Harry Potter world, there is a magical sport called "Quidditch". In Quidditch, players try to get a large ball in a net. It's a little bit like baseball and a little bit like soccer.
There is also a tiny, golden ball that is magical. It flies around the whole game. If a player is able to catch it, (s)he immediately wins the game. This is very different from soccer or baseball, for sure! Instead of needing to make goals or home runs, you can simply catch the golden ball and win the game. The golden ball is called "the golden snitch".
The golden snitch, however, is NOT easy to catch! It takes a lot of cleverness to catch it, because it is constantly flying around. Harry Potter is the team player assigned to trying to catch the golden snitch for his team each game.
