1 cup green cherries - cut in half
1 cup red cherries - cut in half
1 cup candied mixed fruit
1.5 oz. candied pineapple - cut in half
2 cups golden raisins
2 1/2 cups flour (divided)
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1/2 pad unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Butter and dust a bread loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mix together the dried fruits (first five ingredients) with 1/2 cup of flour. Set aside.

Mix remaining 2 cups of flour with baking powder and salt

Cream together butter and sugar.

Add the eggs, one at a time.

Add flour mixture and milk, alternating, starting with flour and ending with flour.
Add vanilla.

Stir batter into the dried fruit mixture.

Pour the batter in the pan, spread almonds on top, pressing in a bit.

Bake at 350 for 1 hr and 15 mns or until a toothpick comes out dry.
