2¼ Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Shortening
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
¾ Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Eggs (room temperature)
1 Pkg. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz.)

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Put parchment paper on or use 2 ungreased cookie sheets. Set aside.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs and mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared sheet. Bake for 7-11 minutes or until just beginning to brown. Rotate sheet ½ turn at halfway point of baking.

Remove from oven and cool on sheet for 4 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
