2 cups brown sugar
1 cup Crisco shortening
1 tsp. soda
3 eggs
4 cups flour
½ tsp. salt
¾ tsp. cinnamon
Filling:
1 pkg. (8 oz.) dates
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
½ cup nutmeats

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening - add eggs, mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix. In saucepan- Cook dates, sugar and water until thick. Add nutmeats. Roll out batter to ⅛" thick. Spread on filling and roll up. Cool 2 hours or overnight in refrigerator. Slice (looks like pinwheels). Bake in 375º hot oven for 10-12 minutes.
