1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 well beatened eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1½ c. all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 c. quick cooking oats
½ c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cream shortening and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add oats and nuts; mix well.

Spoon onto baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
