1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups Rice Krispies

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the shortening, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
Stir in the oatmeal and the Rice Krispies.
Drop onto cookie sheet and bake at 350º until light brown.

May add coconut, nuts, raisins or gumdrops.
