1 cup shortening

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

3 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ( for snicker doodles)

Directions:
Directions:
In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients.

cover and chill for 1 hour if using shaped cookie cutters.

Preheat oven to 375º

On a lightly floured surface roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness.

Using a spatula transfer cut cookies to a non greased cookie sheet.

For snicker Doodles sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon and sugar on top of cookies.

Bake for 8 minutes on middle oven rack.
