Directions:Combine shortening, butter & sugars and beat with mixer for no more than a min. (I think too long makes cookies like cake) Add egg yolk, milk & vanilla and mix till combined. Sift flour, salt and soda in a separate bowl and stir to combine well. Dump into batter and mix with a large spoon. When partially combined dump in the chips and stir until mixed. ( No need to over mix) Cover and refrigerate for a few hours or until next day. Preheat oven to 325' - 350'. I use parchment to bake my cookies on. I usually bake 1 cookie on a tin foil pie plate to make sure they spread to my liking. I use a scoop and flatten slightly with my hand. Bake 10-12 min. Let cool 5 min. and move to cooling rack. |

Notes: I find dark brown sugar has more flavor, but brown sugar works well too. I use a slight 1/2 cup of white sugar as it seems like a lot of sugar.
