Sugar Cookie Cut Outs Recipe

1 1/2 c. butter (3 sticks)
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Confectioners Glaze
2 c powdered sugar
3 Tbsp. milk
1/2 sp. vanilla
Combine until smooth and spread over baked cookies. Set on rack up to 1 hour to harden.

Oven to 400º

Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Combine dry ingredients and gradually beat in. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill at least 1 hour. Roll 1/4" thickness on lightly floured surface and cut with cookie cutters.*

Bake on parchment lined cookie sheets 7-9 minutes or until edges barely begin to brown.

Cool on wire rack.

Glaze.

*You can also roll between 2 pieces of parchment paper. - Put rolled out dough on cookie sheet and chill for 30 minutes at least. Take top piece of parchment paper off and cut with cookie cutters. Then place on cookie sheet to bake.
