● 1 cup white sugar
● 1 cup brown sugar
● 1 ½ cup shortening
● 12 slightly beaten egg yolks
● 3 ½ cup flour
● ½ teaspoon salt
● 1 teaspoon baking soda
● 2 teaspoon baking powder
● 2 or 3 teaspoon of vanilla, lemon,
or orange flavoring

1. Preset oven to 350º fahrenheit
2. Cream white sugar, brown sugar, and
shortening together
3. Add and mix egg yolks, alternating flour and dry ingredients, add flavoring
4. Roll into balls, and roll in sugar.
5. Put on baking sheet, and flatten slightly
6. Bake approx. 7 min.

Backstory: These delicious cookies are a recipe invented by my grandma's aunt. Who had created the recipe because, after making a lot of angel food cakes to sell (she was a baker), had a lot of egg yolks left.
