Cookie dough:
1 cup Sugar
3/4 cup Butter (room temperature)
1 Egg
3 tbsp. Molasses
2 cups Flour (sifted)
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1-1/2 tsp. ground Ginger
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. ground Cloves
1/2 tsp. ground Nutmeg

Glaze:
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tbsp. Lemon juice

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

In a large bowl, with hand mixer cream together sugar and butter, until light and fluffy, (about 3 minutes). Then mix in the egg and molasses. In another bowl mix together all dry ingredients, and slowly add to the wet mixture.

Fill shallow bowl with sugar. Break off walnut size pieces of cookie dough, and roll into balls. Then roll the balls in sugar. Place balls on cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer cookies to cooling rack.

Glaze: Combine powdered sugar and lemon juice, stir until smooth. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies, and let glaze dry completely.

Ok to freeze cookies between sheets of waxed paper.
