½ cup shortening
½ cup oil
¾ cup sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour (a bit more if its gooey)
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ cup lemon or orange juice
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp almond extract
⅓ cup lemon or orange juice
a dash of salt

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and roll out.

Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.

For Apple Pie, use 8 large spy apples cut up in cubes. Mix with ½ Cup sugar, 1½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp baking soda and 1 tbsp,. flour. Place inside dough in round ceramic dish and add more dough on top. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar. Or to make it an apple cake, bake in a 9x13 pan.
