Christmas Star Cookies Recipe

1 C soft butter
1/2 C sugar
2 1/2 C flour

Cream butter with sugar until fluffy.

Blend in flour

Wrap dough in wax paper - it is crumbly, so press together firmly.

Refrigerate until chilled , about 1 hour.

Roll out dough to 1/3" thick .Cut with star cookie cutter.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet

Bake at 300 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes

Frosting: About 1/3 - 1/2 box Confectioners sugar
3 T very soft butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 T milk
Mix together. Add milk if necessary until of spreading consistency (very little at a time)

Divide frosting in half.

Use a few drops of red food coloring to one half

Use a few drops of green food coloring to the other half

Spread icing on cookies and enjoy.

Makes about 5 dozen
