Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts
4 slices ham or prosciutto
8 slices hard cheese, such as fontina or parmesan
4 sage leaves
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
3 T. butter
1 T. olive oil
1 cube chicken bouillon
1/2 c. whipping cream
1/2-1 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare chicken:

Pound chicken breasts until thin and even (or buy pre-pounded chicken). Layer each breast with a piece of ham, several slices of cheese, and sage leaf. Carefully roll up and secure with several toothpicks (try to contain all the ingredients within the chicken).

Dip chicken in milk and then flour to coat.

Heat oil and butter in a large saucepan/skillet over medium high heat. When butter foams and is hot, cook the chicken so that all sides get nicely browned. Add bouillon and water, scraping up the browned chicken bits. Part way through, you can add the cream and stir. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes until chicken is done. You might need to adjust the amounts of bouillon, water, and cream as it cooks.

This is my great-grandmother's recipe, and we make it every year for Isaac's birthday dinner.
