3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 c. flour
3/4 c. cornstarch
1 t. baking powder

Directions:
Melt butter over low heat. Add the sugar gradually, beating it in thoroughly with a spoon. Add the well beaten egg, and continue beating with a spoon until mixture is smooth, creamy and somewhat thick. Blend in vanilla.

Sift flour once before measuring.

Sift flour, cornstarch and baking powder together, and add all at once to first mixture. Stir until well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1-1/2" apart onto lightly greased heavy baking sheet or pan.

Bake for 16-18 minutes in a 350⁰ oven.
