3/4 cup of Crisco butter shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of almond extract
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, eggs and almond extract. Blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Chill for an hour. (I don't usually chill my dough)

Heat oven to 400º. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured counter. Cut into desired shapes. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 6-8 minutes until lightly brown.

Cool before icing.

For the icing: I mix powder sugar with a small bit of softened butter, add 1 teaspoon or more to your liking. I sometimes add a drop or two of milk for spreading on cookie. You just need to play around with the icing as I have never measured in making this.
