2 c butter
2 c sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
5 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, soda, cream of tartar slowly. Refrigerate for 24 hours.

Add 1/2 - 1 cup flour if dough is sticky, but knead in by hand. Flour table or working service and roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Bake 350 for 8 min. They will look slightly underdone but will continue to cook on cooling rack when removed from sheet.
