3/4 cup shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp of water and your favorite food coloring of your choice
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar then add eggs and vanilla, beat.
Mix 2 1/2 c. flour with baking powder and salt.
Combine all ingredients except egg yolk, water and food coloring.
Refrigerate at least 2 hrs.
Roll out 1/4 dough at a time very thin.
Cut into fancy shapes and place on cookie sheet.
Mix egg yolk, water and food coloring and paint on cookies.
Bake 350 degrees 6-8 minutes
